A novel cartridge inspection system that examines the primary components of a bullet-casing, primer, projectile and gunpowder-also can evaluate and discard faulty ammo at rates exceeding 25,200 an hour.

Built by General Inspection, LLC, of Davisburg, Mich., the system, using a combination of cameras and a multi-beam proprietary laser, searches for surface flaws, proper size, primer fit and weight of individual cartridges.

Defective ammunition is shunted off the assembly line.
