Americans Express support for parks.

A majority of Americans use local park and recreation services and believe that they are a great benefit to their communities, according to a study conducted by the University of Pennsylvania for the National Recreation and Park Association. Support is strong across age, income, household formation, and political affiliation, and surveys generally indicate that local parks promote conservation, health and wellness, and social equity Interestingly, this level of support is as strong today as it was 25 years ago, when the survey was last conducted.

A majority of respondents indicated that their local park and recreation systems help make their neighborhoods vibrant and dynamic, according to the study, Americans' Broad-Based Support for Local Recreation and Park Services. A large majority of respondents said they use their local public parks, playgrounds, and other open spaces, and a larger percentage said that they personally benefit from public parks. Those who do not regularly use parks also agreed that their communities benefit from local public parks.
