The OAS General Assembly declared 2011 as the Inter-American Year of Culture. In addition to celebrating the diverse cultures in the Americas, the Year aims to create an impact that will continue beyond 2011 and promote the formulation and implementation of new public policies and projects to strengthen cultural industries and to promote culture as a tool of social inclusion.
