Allen University students to receive Apple laptops this spring.

Allen University students will receive a MacBook Air with an Apple-designed M1 chip this spring as the Columbia school completes a transition to a fully functional Apple campus.

Faculty, staff and administrators began receiving iMacs or iPad Airs last summer. All students in good standing will receive a MacBook Air after spring registration, according to a news release from the school.

The initiative "is further evidence of Allen's commitment to provide students with tools and experiences that facilitate achieving all that they can imagine whether to excel on career paths or pursue graduate studies," Ernest McNealey, president of Allen University, said in the release.
