Tooele - ALLEGHENY TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED (ATI) received the Community Impact Award from Jason Perry, executive director of the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED).

"Allegheny Technologies is a leader in the specialty metals industry and the positive contribution to the local workforce in Tooele County and the state will be significant," said Perry, upon presentation of the award.

The Community Impact Award is given to companies that have demonstrated profound positive economic benefits to local communities in which new development projects have begun. ATI is building a new plant in Tooele County, which is expected to create 150 new jobs with salaries in excess of $45,000. The company is also expected to spend approximately $460 million building the plant.
