The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development estimates that there were 676,987 Alaskans in 2007.

Not all of these people were part of the work force, of course. A large number of them are children, for example. The number of employable Alaskans fluctuates from month to month, from a high of 361,702 in July to a low of 348,947 in January.
