The fledgling Port of Prince Rupert in British Columbia, Canada, is proving the advantage of shipping containers from Asia to the North American Midwest. The first container vessel ship to call on the new terminal docked in late October. Cargo was off-loaded swiftly and sent on via train to inland cities. Officials are promoting the port as one element of an Asia-North American trade corridor.
