Alaska's Walsh Is Elected President Of NAIC Succeeding Foster Of Virginia.

HONOLULU, Hawaii -- David J. Walsh of Alaska was elected president of the NAIC by acclamation. Walsh served the past year as NAIC vice president and served one term as the association's recording secretary prior to that. He has been Alaska Director of Insurance since February 1990. The election took place December 5 here during the winter national meeting of the association of legislators. Walsh succeeds Steven F. Foster. Virginia Insurance Commissioner.

Walsh chaired the NAIC Executive Committee during the past year and chairs the NAIC's International Insurance Relations Task Force.

"I want to keep the momentum the NAIC has generated these past few years. I want to work as hard as I can to assist each and every state insurance department in serving consumers more effectively." Walsh said. "I look forward to working with my fellow NAIC officers to continue to improve our tradition-rich system of stale regulation.
