* The first named listed is the parent company and may not be the company name most familiar to Alaskans. Ketchikan Pulp Co., for example, is owned by Louisiana-Pacific Corp.

* Total employees includes a company's full-and part-time employees. That is why seasonal industries, such as seafood processors, have a large number of total employees: When the fish come in, these businesses hire thousands of temporary workers.

* An asterisk (*) next to the name of a company official indicates that the individual works at corporate headquarters outside of Alaska.
