Alaska Airlines recently appointed Matt Yerbic to managing director of cargo, a newly created position at the airline. In his new position, Yerbic will be responsible for all aspects of Alaska's cargo business and also will provide a significant portion of the cargo support for Horizon Air, Alaska's sister airline.

Originally from Palmer, Yerbic began his career at Alaska Airlines in 1989 as a ramp service agent in Anchorage.
