An Alabama candidate who claimed her campaign for county commissioner was endorsed by Jesus lost her reelection bid.
Jefferson County Commissioner Sandra Little Brown's campaign distributed flyers that she was "supported by Jesus Christ and his followers."
Michael Miller, the campaign manager of City Councilor Sheila Tyson, who ran against Brown, accused Brown's campaign of attempting to highlight her religious beliefs white downplaying her policies.
"Using Jesus' name I guess would make her seem a little more religious, but Jesus wouldn't make the poor people suffer like Sandra has," Miller said.
Brown stood by her flyers after getting criticism.
