Last month, ABM published a feature article regarding the connection between Alaska and Hawaii, with extensive references and coverage of Hawaiian Vacations Inc. Shortly after going to press, Alaska Airlines announced that it had agreed to acquire certain assets of the Anchorage-based tour company, which has been in business for 25 years. The acquisition was scheduled to close in September, while the transition of operations is expected to be complete in February 2008.
