American Airlines American Airlines Increases Service to Venezuela. American Airlines, a member of the oneworld[umlaut] alliance, today announced it is expanding its Venezuela service by increasing the number of weekly flights between New York and Caracas . Beginning Nov. 18 , American will add three flights per week between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York and Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) in Caracas , offering flights on the route five days per week, up from two days per week. American flies the route with a Boeing 757 aircraft with 188 seats. American first began service to Venezuela, its first destination in South and Central America, on Aug. 1, 1987, with flights between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Caracas . The airline currently has 48 weekly flights into and out of Venezuela , with flights to Caracas from Miami , San Juan , Dallas/Fort Worth and New York /JFK, and to Maracaibo from Miami. Nov 14, 2011

Copa Airlines World Travel Awards Names Copa Airlines 2011 Leading Airline for Mexico and Central America. Copa Airlines has been named " Mexico & Central America 's Leading Airline 2011" by World Travel Awards. This is the second consecutive year the airline has won this important recognition. Three other Central American and Mexican airlines also were nominated for the award. The World Travel Awards began in 1993 to acknowledge and recognize excellence in the world's travel and tourism industry. Votes are cast by 183,000 travel professionals, including travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organizations in over 160 countries across the globe. Nov 17, 2011

Delta Air Lines Delta Announces Latest Expansion in New York. Delta Air Lines today announced its latest expansion in New York City , with 12 new daily flights to 11 domestic and Caribbean destinations in spring and summer 2012. In March, Delta will add new frequencies between New York-JFK and Santo Domingo and Santiago , Dominican Republic ; and San Juan, Puerto Rico . Delta also will launch new nonstop service between New York-LaGuardia and Nassau, Bahamas . The new and expanded Caribbean routes will serve significant local demand for flights to those markets. In addition, Delta in June will add new routes and frequencies to seven U.S. cities from New York-JFK, including Austin, Texas ; Jacksonville, Fla. ; Kansas City, Mo. ; New Orleans...
