AirBerlin, Iberia Air Berlin, Iberia ink codeshare pact. AirBerlin reached a codeshare agreement with future oneworld partner Iberia. The agreement, which went into effect Friday, will soon be expanded to the frequent flyer programs of both airlines. The codeshare with Iberia is AirBerlin's fifth cooperation agreement with a member of oneworld, which invited the German carrier into the grouping last July. Full membership is expected in early 2012. Under terms of the codeshare accord, AirBerlin will place its code on Iberia service to Madrid from Berlin Tegel, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Geneva. Iberia will place its code on AB routes from SXF, DUS, Hamburg and Stuttgart to Barcelona as well as from DUS to Bilbao and from Cologne/Bonn to Valencia. Jul 11, 2011
Airbus Airbus A380 is poised to carry more American passengers. The Airbus A380 made its first commercial flight in October 2007, flying from Singapore to Australia to emerge as the world's largest passenger plane. Since then, A380s have carried more then 12 million passengers around the world.
