EU could exempt foreign jets from emissions trading system The European Union's cap-and-trade emissions system will include all flights that serve airports in the EU. However, incoming flights from non-EU countries could be exempt from the emissions trading system if "equivalent" measures are implemented in their home nations, according to EU officials. During an inauguration ceremony, Kouvelis revealed that an agreement to facilitate the issuance of visas to Chinese citizens wishing to visit Greece was signed during his visit to Beijing.

The pilots of Flight 447 appeared to have been confused by stall warnings and airspeed indications that fluctuated wildly. Air Nigeria Air Nigeria is to launch its first route outside Africa with a service linking Lagos with London Gatwick. The carrier, which was formerly known as Virgin Nigeria and then - briefly - as Nigerian Eagle, will use an Airbus A340-300 in a two-class, 295-seat configuration on the daily flight, which will launch on 1 September.
