Austrian Airlines Airbus A320 Premium Service will feature 24 electronically adjustable seats with 116 cm. of legroom, "highly agreeable" incline, in-seat power, IFE and enhanced catering options for business class passengers, Austrian said. It will introduce the product on thrice-weekly Vienna-Riyadh and four-times-weekly VIE-Jeddah flights beginning in mid-August. Mar 14, 2008

Lufthansa is not resting on its laurels but instead is committed to investing in its premium product. A new first class cabin, in anticipation of the A380, an improved business class seat with greater recline and its own private jet fleet are in the cards for the German giant. Mar 14, 2008


Lufthansa has no plans at this time to launch an all-business-class widebody service similar to that announced by Singapore Airlines, which will reconfigure A340-500s. The airline has a different market for such an operation, they could operate more all-C class A319s [currently wet-leased from PrivatAir], but so far no decision has been made. Lufthansa will make do with its "quick change" A340 business class cabin. The airline currently wet-leases two A319s and one BBJ from PrivatAir with an all-C class configuration. Mar 14, 2008
