European Commission issued a revision of its list of banned airlines, the seventh update since establishment of the blacklist in March 2006. Newcomers are Ukraine Cargo Airways (the third Ukrainian airline after Volare Airlines and Ukrainian Mediterranean Airlines) and Hewa Bora Airways of DR Congo. HBA previously was allowed to operate a single aircraft under a special arrangement that has ended. Garuda Indonesia also remains on the list. Following the update, nine individual airlines and all carriers from Equatorial Guinea, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Swaziland and DR Congo are prohibited from operating in the EU. Aeroflot will launch four-times-weekly Sochi-Novosibirsk on April 30 and twice-weekly Moscow (airport unidentified)-Bratislava on May 27, both aboard Tu-154Ms. Apr 15, 2008

British Airways

British Airways will start in October daily short-haul routes from Gatwick to Oporto, Portugal[sup.1]s second largest city, and Valencia, Spain. Second daily services to Alicante and Turin will be added from the end of that month. Apr 18, 2008

British Airways

British Airways will suspend its daily flights from Manchester to New York JFK in October because of increasingly poor performance on the route. It will move the Boeing 767 aircraft which operated it to Heathrow, and switch a 777 to Gatwick to fly daily services from there to JFK on 27 October. This will boost the carrier[sup.1]s capacity from the capital to JFK to 62 flights a week, with 55 already going from Heathrow. The four-class 777 will offer First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller. British Air still has a daily service to Chicago from Manchester. Apr 18, 2008

Flybaboo

Flybaboo announced the launch of flights from Geneva to St. Petersburg (thrice-weekly), Kiev (thrice-weekly), Sofia (thrice-weekly) and Vienna (weekdays), plus a third daily frequency to Nice and a second daily to Venice. All new flights will begin May 26-July 1. It also will add seasonal flights to Biarritz, St. Tropez, Tangiers and Ibiza.
