Frankfurt Airport Two US airmen were shot dead and two were wounded Wednesday aboard a bus parked curbside outside Frankfort Airport's Terminal 2. Kosovo Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi confirmed that German police had arrested a 21-year-old Kosovo citizen in connection with the shooting. The US Air Force said the victims were based at Lakenheath airfield in England. The bus was to take them from FRA to the US military base in Ramstein. US President Barack Obama said during a brief appearance in Washington that he was "saddened" and "outraged by this attack" and vowed the US "will spare no effort in learning how this outrageous attack took place and in working with the German authorities to ensure that all of the perpetrators are brought to justice." Rexhepi stated that it was unknown whether the alleged shooter was acting alone, noting that authorities are "trying to find out" whether the shooting was "something that was organized or what was the nature of the attack." The deadly attack is the second to occur at a major international airport in less than seven weeks, following the Jan. 24 Moscow Domodedovo bombing that killed 36 and wounded more than 100. Both occurred in areas that are generally unsecured at airports worldwide. Mar 3, 2011
