El Al Israel Airlines

El Al Israel Airlines announced another a reduction in the fuel surcharge for London to Tel Aviv flights. The price will come down [pounds sterling]15.00 from [pounds sterling]63.00 to [pounds sterling]48.00 per leg bringing the price of a return economy ticket between London and Tel Aviv below [pounds sterling]300.00 The reduction is effective from 23rd December for journeys origination on or after 23rd December 2008 and applies to all tickets except infants who are exempt.The reduction comes despite the current economic situation and fluctuating dollar exchange rate. El Al Israel Airlines

El Al Israel Airlines announced plans to launch Tel Aviv-Sao Paulo Guarulhos flights next spring aboard a Boeing 777, although precise details of dates, frequency and aircraft type have yet to be confirmed, sometime in the middle of 2009. The service, which will mark a return to Brazil and South America after a 10-year absence. It is not known whether the Israeli flag-carrier will operate to other South American countries, but the spokeswoman says that further details will become known "in a month or two". Dec 15, 2008

Emirates Airlines

Emirates' inaugural Dubai-San Francisco flight utilizing a polar routing on 15 December surpassed the carrier's projected time savings by 25 minutes. During a ceremony celebrating the Boeing 777-200LR's landing Emirates announced that it was conservative in its estimates of shaving 20 minutes off the flight.
