El Al Israel Airlines

El Al Israel Airlines will close its thrice-weekly Tel Aviv-Miami service on Sept. 1. It will codeshare on American Airlines flights from MIA to New York JFK, from which El Al serves Tel Aviv. 7/3/2008

Emirates Airlines

Emirates Airlines launched six-times-weekly flights from Dubai to Guangzhou and Kozhikode this week. It will operate A330-200s on the Guangzhou route and both A330-200s and 777-200s on the Kozhikode route. Guangzhou is EK's fourth Chinese destination while Kozhikode is its 10th in India. 7/4/2008

Emirates Airlines

Emirates Airlines points out that its existing services to Egypt and South Africa will continue unchanged. The cancellation of the Durban route will be a blow to European travellers because there are few direct flight options. Emirates had timed this route launch to capitalize on the voluminous seasonal traffic flows between Europe and South Africa. According to an Emirates[sup.1] spokesman "although demand to Durban was strong and the route well received, the high price of fuel has forced Emirates to evaluate its route operations ever more closely." In other news, late delivery of new ultra long-range planes from Boeing has forced Emirates to delay the introduction of flagship non-stop services linking Dubai with the US West Coast from this autumn.
