Transport emissions fell as recession hit. Global transport emissions fell sharply during the past two years as the recession hit consumers and businesses. New data show that greenhouse emissions from the transport sector slumped by up to 10%, in the fastest decline for more than 40 years. May 27, 2010

Delta Air Lines Delta Air Lines intends to launch a weekly service from Atlanta to Monrovia starting Sept, 4, subject to government approval. Delta plans to use a 767-300ER on the route, which will be operated via Accra. May 26, 2010

Emirates Airlines The local Emirates office has confirmed that effective October this year, the airline will operate their A380 sky giant twice a day between Dubai and New YorkOs JFK airport, making the journey from East Africa to the United States even more comfortable and pleasurable. Emirates currently flies daily to Entebbe, via Addis Ababa, using a B777 aircraft, and other destinations like Nairobi are already on double daily flights, making it easy to connect either directly to the US or spend some time in Dubai for shopping or recreation.
