Star Alliance Adds Navigator App for iPad to Mobile Support Star Alliance announced that it has expanded its mobile device offer by introducing the customised Navigator app for the iPad. The new app complements the existing iPhone app. The new tool features an interactive 3D globe which visually depicts the 27 airline network. The debuting OMy TripO feature, enables customers to store and monitor their Alliance flight itineraries and is only available on the Navigator iPad app. Customers using the app can search flights on all Star Alliance member airlines, check flight status across the alliance and find lounges on over 1,000 lounges through the AllianceOs member airlines. Airport information including weather, city guides, lounge locations and details of the member airlines serving the selected destination is also available. Frequent Flyer Benefits, along with information on the Star Alliance Gold and Silver privileges is also featured. This section is complemented by videos, images and texts on customer advocates who represent each of the AllianceOs customer benefits, detailing their real life travel experiences, lives and journeys. American Airlines American Airlines Joins With The American Red Cross To Aid Oklahoma Tornado Victims. American Airlines and American Eagle are working with the American Red Cross to aid people affected by the major tornadoes that have struck Oklahoma, including areas of Oklahoma City. The storms have left widespread swathes of destruction, injury and loss of life, and have left thousands homeless. Members of the American Airlines AAdvantage[umlaut] program can support relief efforts by donating to the American Red Cross to help provide victims with shelter, food and other assistance. Through June 30, 2013, AAdvantage members will earn a one-time award of 250 AAdvantage miles for a minimum donation of $50, or 500 AAdvantage miles for a donation of $100 or more to American Red Cross Disaster Relief. "Help is urgently needed by the victims of these storms," said Bernie Willett, American's Director for Citizenship and Community Programs. "We invite our customers to join us in supporting the American Red Cross to provide much-needed assistance to those in need." Numerous trained Red Cross disaster workers have mobilized to distribute meals and relief supplies to those affected by the tornadoes. By donating to American Red Cross Disaster Relief, American Airlines customers can support people who have been stricken by the storms as they begin to recover and rebuild. Individuals may also directly donate needed relief items at the American Airlines maintenance base in Tulsa, Okla., where American has set up a trailer and volunteers are accepting donations from employees and the public. American is coordinating its efforts with Transport Workers Union Local 514, which is working with the American Red Cross. The only items the Red Cross can accept are as follows: bottled water, Gatorade, shovels, rakes, work gloves, flashlights, batteries, sunscreen, heavy-duty trash bags, plastic storage containers, individually-wrapped snacks, baby formula, canned food, can openers, cat and dog food, hand sanitizer, wipes, diapers, personal hygiene items. The maintenance base is located near Tulsa International Airport at 3900 N. Mingo Road; donations are being accepted from 6 a.m.to 8:30 p.m. "Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends in Oklahoma," said Bill Collins, American's Vice President [ETH] Base Maintenance.
