Air India issues RFPs for A320s and 737s Air India and its affiliates have unveiled Requests For Proposals (RFP) for the lease of Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft due for delivery from this year onwards.

Tender documents seen by ch-aviation show the Indian carrier is looking to dry-lease fourteen A320ceo/neo aircraft with delivery scheduled for between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2019. Contracts will range from six to twelve years. The A320-200 jets are to be powered by CFM International CFM56-5B4/3 engines while the A320neo jets should use either CFM LEAP-1A26 or Pratt & Whitney PW1127G-JM motors. In its tender for the dry-lease of five new 737-800s, Air India Express said it would require the jets for a period of eight years with an option to extend the lease by four more years. The aircraft, which are to be powered by CFM56-7B27/3 motors, should be delivered before the end of next year and will operate on five-year long contracts. Jetairfly to operate ex-AeroMxico Boeing 737-700 for ECAir Jetairfly, based at Brussels National, has won a wet-lease contract from ECAIR - Equatorial Congo Airlines to operate at least one aircraft on ECAir's behalf according to Het Nieuwsblad en Gazet van Antwerpen. The first aircraft is likely a Boeing 737-700 (msn 33793), initially expected to be operated by PrivatAir (Switzerland) on behalf of ECAir.
