The U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center has shipped small unmanned aircraft to units deployed in Central Asia to provide additional security.

The technology is called Force Protection Airborne Surveillance System.

The system helps security forces see beyond base perimeters, said Col. Howard Borst, program director. 'This system is not intended to replace troops," said Borst.
