AICPA media highlights: October 1-December 31.

Following are some recent highlights of the AICPA's media outreach efforts to showcase CPAs' outstanding work and the profession's perspectives on important issues.

* A discussion of Feed the Pig, a component of the 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy effort, appears in a new book, The Leisure Economy, by Linda Nazareth, published in Oct. by John Wiley. 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy (www.360financialliteracy.org) is an effort aimed at educating Americans about how financial issues affect their lives.

* The AICPA won the 2007 Non-Profit PR Award for Best Press Release for releases "Home Ownership Out of Reach for Many Adult Americans, AICPA Poll Reveals" and "American Adults Still Expect to Retire With a Pension, According to AICPA Survey." The releases generated millions of media mentions for CPAs nationwide.

* The AICPA's Business and Industry Fourth Quarter Economic Outlook Survey generated more than 37 million media impressions, and was covered by 50 media outlets...
