Following are some recent highlights of the AICPA's media outreach efforts to showcase CPAs' outstanding work and the profession's perspectives on important issues.

Tax Season

* On Feb. 6, USAToday.com began publishing a tax question-and-answer column that runs every weekday until Apr. 15 with a reader's question and an answer from a member of the AICPA Tax Division, Personal Financial Planning Section or Financial Literacy Commission.

* The AICPA recently teamed up with InvestmentNews for a new "Ask the CPA Q&A" project. A panel of members from the AICPA's Tax Division answers tax questions submitted by financial advisers. This feature will appear on the InvestmentNews Web site through Apr. 15. The questions and answers will be archived on the site.

* Tom Ochsenschlager, AICPA vice president-taxation, was quoted in 23 articles generating more than 70 million impressions. His quotes appeared in national publications, such as The New York Times, Tire Washington Post and CNNMoney.com, and major dailies, such as The Baltimore Sun and St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Press Releases

* The AICPA's Business and Industry First Quarter Economic Outlook Survey, released on Feb. 20, generated more than 41 million media impressions and was covered by 69 media outlets, including Yahoo!
