Boeing, Missile Defense Agency Missile Defense Agency awards USD3.5B contract to Boeing. The Missile Defense Agency has awarded a USD3.48 billion contract to Boeing for the development of a missile shield. The seven-year contract continues a contract Boeing has held since 1998. Embraer, Hawker Beechcraft Lawmaker expresses dismay over Hawker Beechcraft elimination. Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., has expressed disappointment with the U.S. Air Force over its decision to award a light-air support contract to Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. "Several weeks ago, Hawker Beechcraft -- the only American competitor -- was eliminated from this important competition without explanation," he said. Harris Corporation Harris Corporation Awarded USD6.8 Million IT Services Contract by U.S. Air Force Materiel Command Electronic Systems Center. Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, was awarded a USD6.8 million contract by the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command to deliver integration and maintenance support through December 2012 for AFNet hardware. The integration and maintenance support provided by Harris under the contract includes: system engineering, management of technical publications, Tier 2 and 3 response center support, software configuration, and on-site system support.
