Boeing, U.S. Air Force U.S. Air Force opens bidding for satellite communications terminals. The U.S. Air Force has invited other companies besides current contractor Boeing to submit bids for satellite communications terminals. The Air Force is attempting to convert its contract with Boeing into a fixed-price contract. "Negotiations with Boeing on the current contract are ongoing while we continue to look at other provider options," said Air Force spokeswoman Major Tracy Bunko. May 22, 2012

Inmarsat, Honeywell Satellite deal could boost in-flight Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi service on flights may improve due to a recent deal between Inmarsat and Honeywell. Inmarsat plans to launch three satellites to boost in-flight Wi-Fi. The Global Xpress project will make Wi-Fi available on all flights, including long-haul flights. May 22, 2012
