Clinton signals hard bargain on missile shield. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signaled over the weekend that the U.S. won't offer a cheap trade on its Eastern European missile shield. In Belgium for a NATO meeting, Clinton said the anti-missile system is "a very important tool in our defensive arsenal for the future," and said it could help counter a "range of threats," rather than just the specter of Iranian nuclear missiles.
