Boeing Army is advancing vertical-lift, unmanned aircraft. The U.S. Army is working on the next phase of its push into unmanned aircraft with unmanned vertical-lift helicopters. Boeing A160T Hummingbird unmanned helicopters will be deployed in June in Afghanistan. The U.S. Air Force has invited other companies besides current contractor Boeing to submit bids for satellite communications terminals. The Air Force is attempting to convert its contract with Boeing into a fixed-price contract.
