Airbus Airbus Military's first C-295 development aircraft fitted with an airborne early warning and control system rotodome completed its first modified flight of 2h 48min on 7 June from the company's San Pablo site near Seville. The objective of the trials is to verify the aerodynamic and structural impact of the in-house developed rotodome on the aircraft's overall structure, handling qualities and performance. The 6m (20ft)-diameter rotodome fitted for the initial trials is a fixed dummy structure. The EADS CASA C-295 is a twin-turboprop tactical military transport aircraft manufactured by Airbus Military in Spain. Jun 8, 2011

Dassault Aviation, BAE Systems Dassault and BAE outline joint program to develop drones. France's Dassault Aviation and Britain's BAE Systems offered details about a joint program for developing medium-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aircraft.
