IN HOPES OF ADVANCING RENEWABLE energy development in Maine, CLF has intervened in proceedings to promote the balanced review of a proposed wind facility. The Redington Wind project has been proposed for Maine's western mountains--one of the few suitable sites for commercial-scale wind power in the state due to high winds on north-south ridgelines and proximity to existing transmission lines. The project would consist of 18 turbines on Black Nubble and 12 turbines on Redington Ridge, and would be near the Appalachian Trail.
