Adidas distribution center adds shift, jobs.

The Adidas distribution center is Spartanburg is adding an overnight shift to answer rising demand, creating more than 200 new jobs in the process.

The company, which already employs 1,900 workers at the facility, is adding people in several positions, including managers, warehouse workers and forklift operators for a new 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday-Sunday shift.

"We are adding the new overnight weekend shift to meet increased consumer demand," Rich Efrus, from Adidas corporate communications, said in an email. "We're always working to improve our operations and increase the speed at which we deliver products to our consumers."

He said the new shift will not require physical expansion of the facilities.
