The Baker Hughes North American Rotary Rig Count is a calculation of the drilling rigs that are actively searching for, or developing, oil and natural gas throughout the United States and Canada.

In November 2004, the United States had 1,251 active rigs searching for, or developing, oil and natural gas, compared to just 1,113 rigs in November 2003.
