Alaska Communications Systems Group Inc. recently reported results of operations for the first quarter of 2001. Revenues for the first quarter increased $3 million to $81.2 million, or 3.8 percent over first-quarter 2000 revenues and in line with the company's previous guidance for the quarter. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization for the first quarter were $30.7 million compared to $29.8 million the prior year.
