Erika Harmon Arner (coeditor and lead author) is a partner at Finnegan,

Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, where she chairs the rm’s

Patent Ofce Practice. She has represented numerous clients before the

PTAB and its predecessor, and she served as lead counsel in the rst cov-

ered business method post-grant review instituted by the PTAB. She is

also a well-known authority in the areas of business method patents and

patent-eligibility jurisprudence, and represented the petitioner in the land-

mark Bilski v. Kappos case before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Joseph E. Palys (coeditor and lead author) is a partner at Finnegan, Hen-

derson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP. His practice focuses on patent

litigation, AIA post-grant proceedings, portfolio management and mon-

etization, and prosecution. A former Supervisory Patent Examiner at the

U.S. Patent and Trademark Ofce, Joe has represented patent owners and

requesters in dozens of reexaminations. He is also lead counsel in over a

dozen inter partes reviews and was co-counsel in the rst covered business

method post-grant review instituted by the PTAB.

Cory C. Bell (coauthor) is an attorney at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow,

Garrett & Dunner, LLP. As a former Patent Examiner, his practice focuses

on AIA post-grant and reexamination proceedings before the U.S. Patent

and Trademark Ofce, and on portfolio development and management.

Cory has represented clients before the PTAB, in U.S. district courts, and

before the International Trade Commission.

Paromita (Mita) Chatterjee (coauthor) is an attorney at Finnegan, Henderson,
