About the Authors

David P. Bart, CIRA, CDBV, CFE, ASA, ABV is the senior director of the Great Lakes Forensic Investigation and Dispute Services practice at RSM US LLP in Chicago. He has significant experience dealing with complex commercial litigation involving bankruptcy, workouts and commercial damages. His assignments have included financial consulting, litigation consulting, and testimony in cases involving commercial damages, business operations, solvency analysis, fraudulent conveyance, business valuation, forensic accounting and financial investigations. Mr. Bart's engagements include matters in the bankruptcy, district and state courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings. His expertise includes financial and economic analysis, investigative accounting, statistical analysis, and business valuation involving both for-profit and nonprofit entities.

Mr. Bart is the former chairman of the American Bankruptcy Institute's Task Force on Litigation Trusts and the primary author of A Practitioner's Guide to Liquidation and Litigation Trusts (ABI 2015). He is also the primary author of Standards for Distressed Business Valuation, published by the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, for which he is president-elect, chairman of its Technical Issues and Standards Committee and co-editor of its AIRA Journal. Mr. Bart is a member of the Business Valuation Association, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the American Society of Appraisers, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He has published numerous articles and presentations, and he teaches seminars in his fields of expertise. Mr. Bart received both his B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Eric Daucher is a partner in the New York City office of Norton Rose Fulbright. He provides a full spectrum of bankruptcy and insolvency-related advice, and his practice includes litigating avoidance actions and contested chapter 11 plans of reorganization or liquidation, prosecuting and defending bankruptcy appeals, advising on and obtaining bankruptcy court approval of value-maximizing distressed M&A transactions, analyzing complex capital structures and related covenant issues, and negotiating and implementing out-of-court workouts...
