Pamela Ban is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Economy and Government

at Harvard University. Her research interests include electoral politics,

interest groups, and legislatures.

ecnicas (CONICET) of Argentina. His research focuses on f‌iscal

federalism, legislative politics, presidential politics, and the political

management of economic crises. Bonvecchi has co-authored two books

on legislative and presidential politics in Argentina.

David E. Broockman is an Assistant Professor of Political Economy at

the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He received his Ph.D. from

the University of California, Berkeley in 2015. Broockman’s research

focuses on public opinion and political representation. His work has also

appeared in the American Journal of Political Science and Political

Analysis, among other outlets.

Ernesto Calvo is Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Depart-

ment of Government and Politics (GVPT), University of Maryland-Col-

lege Park. His research on political representation, elections, and

Congresses has received the Lawrence Longley Award and the Leubbert

Best Article Award from the Representation and the Comparative Poli-

tics sections of the American Political Science Association. He is the

author of Legislator Success in Fragmented Congresses in Argentina

(Cambridge University Press 2014). Calvo’s work has been published in

US, European, and Latin American journals such as the American Jour-

nal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, World Politics, British Jour-
