Robin E. Best is Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of
Graduate Studies at Binghamton University, SUNY. She received her
Ph.D. from Binghamton University in 2007. Her various journal articles
and book chapters focus on political parties and party systems, electoral
politics, and democratic representation.

Anthony M. Bertelli is Professor of the Politics of Public Policy at New
York University.

Ian Budge is Professor Emeritus of Government at the University of
Essex and founder of the International Manifesto Research Group as
well as of the Essex Summer Schools in Quantitative Social Science. He
received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1967. His several dozen
books, various journal articles, and book chapters focus on democracy,
party competition, and representation through direct and republican
forms of democratic institutions.
