About the Authors

Todd Allee is Associate Professor of Govern ment and Politics at

the University of Maryland. His re search focuses on international

trade, the World Trade Organization (WTO), foreign direct i nvest-

ment, dispute settle ment, and territor ial conf lict resolution. He is

the co-author of The De mocratic Peace and Territorial Conflict in

the Twentieth Century (with Paul K. Huth, Cambridge University

Press). His current rese arch explores the backlash against free

trade as well the text si milar ity among trade and investm ent

agreements. His work has been published in jour nals such as the

American Political S cience Review , International Organization ,

Wor ld P oli ti cs , World Economy, International Studies Quarterly ,

and Journal of Conf lict Resolution .
