ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Brian Edward Banner
Brian Banner practices intellectual property law, estate management, and
corporate trademark development matter as a partner in The Banner Firm,
LLC, of Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has lectured on all aspects of intellec-
tual property before professional and bar association meetings around the
world. He served the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL)
as Council Member, Section Secretary and as Liaison to the ABA Business
Law Section for several years. Mr. Banner was a member of the ABA-IPL
Books Editorial Board for many years, was Editor-in-Chief of Trademark
Infringement Remedies, first and second editions, published by Bloomberg
BNA, and was the first editor of ABA-IPLs newsletter when the Section was
originally called the Patent Trademark Copyright (PTC) Section.
Yee Wah Chin
Ms. Chin is an antitrust lawyer and commercial litigator with corporate trans-
actional experience, who has been a senior counsel and partner with AmLaw
100 law firms, and Assistant General Counsel–Antitrust at a Fortune 100
company. Ms. Chin has written and spoken often on IP-antitrust issues. Most
recently her paper “Copyright Collective Management in the Twenty-first
Century from a Competition Law Perspective” was published by Cambridge
University Press in the book The Evolution and Equilibrium of Copyright in
the Digital Age, and her paper “Antitrust Considerations in IP Monetization
Transactions” was published by Practicing Law Institute in the book IP Mon-
etization 2013: Maximize the Value of Your IP Assets. She has spoken and writ-
ten on China’s Anti-Monopoly Law, including publishing “Merger Control
under China’s Anti-Monopoly Law” in Legal Risk for China Investments, a
journal for foreign investors in China, and speaking at the 61st ABA Anti-
trust Law Section Spring Meeting and the 36th Annual Wolfgang Friedmann
Conference at Columbia University. Ms. Chin has been cited in publications
including The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Global Competition Review, and
CompetitionLaw360. She is Polic y/Government Affairs Officer of the ABA
