About the Authors

Leah Rosenstiel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of

Political Science at Vanderbilt University. She studies American

political institutions with a focus on Congress and public policy.

Her research has been published in Legislative Studies Quarterly

and the American Political Science Review.

Ana Catalano Weeks is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor)

in the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies

at the University of Bath. She is the author of Making Gender

Salient: From Gender Quota Laws to Policy (Cambridge University

Press 2022). Her research on gender, politics, and policy has been

published in journals including the American Journal of Political

Science, American Political Science Review, and Comparative

Political Studies.

Francesco Masala completed his undergraduate degree in Politics

and International Relations at the University of Bath in 2019. He

currently works at the House of Commons Library, where he is a

taxation policy specialist.

Cristian Márquez Romo is Predoctoral fellow at the Institute for

Iberoamerican Studies from the University of Salamanca, Spain.

He holds a BA in Political Science and Administration from

the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superioes de Occidente

(ITESO) and a Master ’ s Degree in Latin American Studies from

the University of Salamanca. His research lines include compara-

tive politics, corruption, and elites, with a regional specialization

in Latin America.

Xavier Romero-Vidal is Research Associate at the Centre for the

Future of Democracy of the University of Cambridge. He holds

a PhD in Political Science from the Leuphana University of

Lüneburg. He studies the evolution of public opinion and political

behaviour in a comparative perspective.

Bethany Bowra is Assistant Professor of Political Science at

Broward College. Her research focuses on political institutions,

particularly the presidency and Congress, as well as political and

interbranch communication.
