About the Authors

Rabia Malik is a Lecturer in the Department of Government at the

University of Essex. She can be contacted at rabia.malik@essex.ac.uk.

Emily Cottle Ommundsen is a PhD student in the Department

of Political Science, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,

Chapel Hill, United States.

Nanna Lauritz Schönhage received her PhD from the Department

of Applied Economics at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), and is

currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Cluster of Excellence,

‘The Politics of Inequality’ at Konstanz Universität. Her research

is concerned with political accountability, parties and decision-

making. Some of her work has appeared in, e.g., electoral studies,

journal of urban economics, and party politics.

Benny Geys is Professor in Economics at Norwegian Business

School (BI) in Bergen. His research focuses on political account-

ability, (local) public policy, and civic engagement. Some of his

work has appeared in, e.g., american political science review, eco-

nomic journal, journal of the european economic association,

journal of public administration research and theory, journal of

public economics, and public administration review.

James M. Curry is Associate Professor of Political Science at the

University of Utah.

Jason M. Roberts is Professor of Political Science at the University

of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
