Rebecca A. Taylor is a mother, writer, and attorney. She grew up in Dela-
ware, then left to attend Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
She graduated with a B.A. in American Studies and a minor in music. After
graduation she lived in New York City, working as a temp paralegal with
a number of the city’s Big Law rms.
Before attending law school, Ms. Taylor served on active duty in the
United States Army as an airborne paratrooper, completing seven parachute
jumps. She trained at military bases throughout the South and was stationed
in the 82d Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Ms. Taylor received an honorable discharge from the military in May
2001 and entered Nova Southeastern University Law Center that fall. She
received her J.D. and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2004. In her nine
years of practice, Ms. Taylor has focused heavily on litigation, handling
hundreds of cases in a variety of legal elds such as property rights, real
estate, family law, guardianships, commercial litigation, landlord-tenant,
and foreclosure law. She is the author of Foreclosure Defense: A Practical
Litigation Guide (ABA: 2011).
Ms. Taylor lives near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with her husband,
