Bridging the Gap Between the News Media and the Bench/Bar

Last month, your KBA Media-Bar Committee hosted the first in what we hope will be a series of lunchtime Zoom panel discussions aimed at helping foster mutual understanding and respect between news media and the bench/bar in Kansas.

In conjunction with the Kansas Press Association and the Kansas Association of Broadcasters, the Media-Bar Committee hosted an online panel discussion on Friday, December 10, titled, "Courthouse Reporting in the Modern Era." An estimated 50 journalists from around the state attended to hear tips from a distinguished panel of speakers as to what information they need to know to help them become better observers and chroniclers of legal proceedings -particularly criminal cases.
