2. Verdict

As a matter of strategy, take a few minutes to study the jury verdict after it is announced and see if it is unfavorable on any issue. If you find any possible inconsistencies in the jury’s decision on the issues submitted to it, you must raise any objection before the jury is discharged; when the defect may be cured by resubmission to the jury, the errors will not be preserved for review on appeal.²¹⁸¹
