1. (§9.18) Rights of the Respondent
Section 475.075.10, RSMo Supp. 2020, sets forth the rights of the respondent in addition to any rights found elsewhere:
· The right to be represented by an attorney: The court is required to appoint an attorney for the respondent, but a respondent may retain private counsel. Section 475.075.4.
The attorney shall visit the respondent at least twenty-four hours prior to the hearing unless the court finds good cause for waiving this requirement.
