8.11 CONTEMPT OF COURT

A juvenile court has the power to punish for contempt pursuant to section 16.1-69.24 of the Virginia Code, with a maximum jail sentence of 10 days for an adult. 64 Section 16.1-292 gives further contempt authority, including the power to place a juvenile in detention for up to 10 days for summary contempt.
