1. (§7.47) Nature of an Unrecorded Interest by Adverse Possession

An adverse possessor establishes title by exercising hostile, actual, open and notorious, and exclusive possession of the property for a continuous period of ten years. Casteel v. Yeary, 77 S.W.3d 127, 129 (Mo. App. S.D. 2002). On the day of the ten-year mark, the adverse possessor acquires title to the property. Flowers v. Roberts, 979 S.W.2d 465, 470 (Mo. App. E.D. 1998).
