7.1 OVERVIEW

In many civil litigation cases, there is some type of insurance involved. Insurance, in the many forms it can take, plays a significant, although often quiet, role in individuals' everyday lives and in the existence of businesses. Insurance for automobiles includes coverage for liability, medical expenses, property damage, collision, comprehensive, rental, and death and dismemberment as well as uninsured and underinsured motorists. There is insurance for health, life, disability, long-term care, and burial.
